Blast Worship: Invaded by Madness

Where they from? Malaysia.
I’ve been watching the Olympics intently these past couple of weeks and I’m quite surprised by what sports I enjoy or don’t. Even though they wear really cool looking armor, fencing is surprisingly boring compared to judo and the skeet shooting is almost impossible to watch due to the speed of the discs they are shooting. And who’s bright idea was it to have three-on-three basketball? Like who does that even appeal to?

Why the hype?
As much people love to complain about the modern world and the ubiquitous proliferation of technology, it does allow for some pretty cool shit sometimes. Like this band right here. It doesn’t state it anywhere on their bandcamp but this definitely feels like a one-man project, but it’s a super tight one in fact! Lots of fun nu metal bounces dispersed around some of the most off-kilter blasting this side of Pro Tools. This stuff really reminds me of South Carolina’s FUCKED, one of my current favorite one-man bands in the modern grind scene.

Latest release?
Invaded by Madness, self-released. I just realized that all eight songs on this album are one word titles that begin with the letter ‘I’. Surely there has to be some sort of hidden meaning to this. Perhaps the ‘I’ is sort of a post-ironic self-reflection for the listener to deconstruct themselves while listening to the album. Yeah, let’s go with that, something like that.
