A Starry Sky (from Time For Us – 2019)
The crystalline chimes that open this ballad feel like a good starting point for this K-Pop A-Z feature. If GFriend are defined by their “powerful innocence” concept, A Starry Sky sees them tackle the “innocent” half of that equation. But with a vocalist as compelling as Yuju providing the rock for everyone else to anchor themselves to, we’re in good hands. This is a simple and syrupy pop track – not one of their best. However, the sweetness of their voices peeks through at every turn. The song also leaves room for a nice build towards its layered climax.
