Bye (from Time For The Moon Night – 2018)
We’re back in ballad territory with the gentle Bye. Its orchestral opening sounds ripped straight from a Disney soundtrack about fairies. I don’t mean that in a bad way, though the approach will likely limit the song’s appeal to some listeners. Overall, this is a very pretty track highlighted by a gorgeous vocal blend during the chorus. It’s slavishly old-fashioned, but that’s okay. Sometimes you just want a solid ballad to wave your hands (or phone lights) along to, and Bye earns its bonafides as soon as we reach its expansive bridge and electric guitar solo. The song even features a fade out at the end! How often do we hear that nowadays?
