Full Album Stream: Faster Than the Devil III Compilation

In the spirit of the Speed Kills, Speed Metal Hell and mid-’80s Metal Massacre compilations, Wise Blood Records (run by dB contributor Sean Frasier) offers up the latest installment of its thrash-oriented series, Faster Than the Devil 3. This now three-album series kicked off in 2022 with the notorious Faster Than the Fucking Devil and has continued annually since. This new installment features four bands—Bloodletter (Chicago), Ninth Realm (Maryland), Acid Mass (Cincinnati), and Grozov (Philadelphia)—each performing three songs, and pretty well covering the underground thrash realm, from blackened thrash gnarl to more trad old-school thrash.

Faster Than the Devil 3 is set for release on October 25 on vinyl, cassette, CD and digitally via Wise Blood Records. Place your preorder here.

“Faster Than the Devil 3 is the most eclectic chapter yet. The concept remains the same: four awesome bands playing fast and nasty metal. The bands slash across numerous subgenres in this collection. Thrash, speed, death, crust punk and trad metal collide with a proto-blackened edge.
“The series is still inspired by historic splits and compilations like Warfare Noise and Speed Kills. Growing up in upstate New York, I also listened to the Common Ground split with Skinless and Straightjacket non-stop. As a broke teenager, I loved splits and compilations as a way to discover new bands on a tight budget. I hope people dig into each band in the series and see why I consider these artists the torchbearing descendents of ’80s extreme metal.”
