Digital Extremes’ recent double Devstream for Warframe and Soulframe provided fans with news, deep dives on upcoming features, and a special tribute to Mike ‘Mynki’ Brennan.
The next Narrative Chapter for Warframe: 1999 will count down to a new era this December. Updates will bring the long-requested Infested Adversaries System with new rewards, a 1999 prequel webcomic in November, and Xaku Prime Access beginning November 13.
In addition, the Soulframe team stated that Preludes testing access will widely open up later in 2025, all while answering a few burning questions from the community and highlighting more gameplay progression.
Megan Everett, Community Director, said the following:
“Today was the first time both of our development teams got to show off their hard work on two projects that are extremely important to us outside of TennoCon.
Seeing the Soulframe community continue to grow so rapidly as they engage with Preludes has been very heartwarming. It’s also exhilarating to see how onboard the Warframe community is around this surreal ‘90s road trip.
We are promising to deliver some experiences both communities have never seen from our studio after 1999 launches!”
A tribute to Mike ‘Mynki’ Brennan was also made:
“Mike ‘Mynki’ Brennan’s contributions to Warframe as its first Art Director can’t be understated. His ability to dream up truly weird and wonderful creatures, characters, and worlds gave the project an iconic identity that has resonated with millions of people around the world.
Warframe would not be where it is today without him. The Digital Extremes family is honored to dedicate Warframe: 1999 to our dear friend, Mynki.”
