Two Point Museum Preview – Digging Deeper

A night (and plenty of days) at the museum await with the upcoming release of Two Point Studios and SEGA’s management title Two Point Museum.

We recently set out to create the ultimate guest experience in Two Point Museum – see what’s to come for Curators the world over with our preview.

There’s quite the dilemma happening in Two Point Museum, with curators vanishing without a trace. With things looking dire in the museum space, there’s a new Curator in town all to eager to take on the monumental task of creating the ultimate guest experience for museum goers.

That’s you!

However, as the new Curator, players will come to realize that the world of Two Point Museum is anything but ordinary.

During our time with the preview, things started out easy enough.

For instance, we set out to generate Buzz and Knowledge at each of the exhibits with strategically placed elements. We also made sure operations ran like clockwork with new hires that each have their own leveling system. We even set up a conveniently-placed gift shop and set up strategically-place donation stands to get some well-earned dosh.

As an elder millennial who’s last major management title was Rollercoaster Tycoon, Two Point Museum helped ease me in during the preview period with detailed instructions, easy-to-understand menus, and enough Cheesy Gubbins to make even the hungriest museum guest happy.

However, one is not happy to just sit on their laurels in Two Point Museum – that leads to mediocrity. Enter Expeditions, where Curators can send out a crack-team of experts to locales like the Bone Belt regions to get things that are shiny and new.

Well old, but new to others – semantics!

Two Point Museum’s Expeditions do cost a pretty penny, however, and they’re not without risk. From obstructions to failure points to training sessions, Murphy’s Law is alive and well during these times. 

However, pull one off in Two Point Museum and a shiny new crate can arrive at your museum, complete with an exhibit that will razzle-dazzle guests. However, these too may very well require require maintenance and also lead to some pesky kids getting in the way – that’s a paddlin’.

While new to the series, our Editor-in-Chief was infatuated with Two Point Hospital when it launched, succinctly describing it as a “colorful clown car of character, warmth, and comedy.”

While this title’s still in our personal backlog, this same comedy and charm can easily be seen from the offset in Two Point Museum. As we tended to our museum during this preview event, we tuned into the sweet sounds of Nigel Bickerworth, listened in to “Digging Deeper,” and were grinning ear-to-ear the whole time.

Two Point Museum is packed with charm, and those who don’t at the very least crack a smirk are more stoic than a caveman – which Two Point Museum also has. 

Our time as a plucky Curator in Two Point Museum had us buzzing as we handled the finer points of museum work. While we are far from management savants, our time with Two Point Museum left us wanting one more night in the museum.

Two Point Museum will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 4, 2025.
