Capcom’s Onimusha series is reawakening with the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword in 2026.
True to series form, Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a single-player action game that will transport players to a dark fantasy feudal Sengoku-era Japan, where samurai clash with the supernatural.
In this title, Kyoto has been infested by the demonic Genma. However, a lone samurai armed with the Oni Gauntlet sets forth to fight in fierce, blood-soaked sword battles with these hellish otherworldly creatures.
Combat in Onimusha: Way of the Sword is (as one would expect) sword-based, featuring a number of “Issen” counterattack mechanics.
