Reflecting key trends and changes within the games industry, The Game Developers Conference (GDC) has released the results of the 13th annual State of the Game Industry Survey.
The State of the Game Indsutry Survey is based on responses from over 3,000 game developers, providing insights into industry-wide sentiment.
Key highlights reveal that developers continue to feel both direct and indirect impacts from ongoing industry-wide layoffs.
In addition, developer believe generative artificial intelligence (AI) is having a negative impact on game development.
Results of the State of the Game Industry Survey also show that developers are increasingly focusing development on the PC platform, also losing interest in the development of live-service titles.

The 2025 Game Developers Conference will be held in-person at San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center from March 17 to March 21, 2025.
