To ring in Astrology Day, the team at Amazon Games recently sat down with Smilegate to dive into Lost Ark’s game’s celestial inspirations, ranging from the Omnium Stars (which have their own mythos in Lost Ark!) to even the best in-game spots for stargazing.
Be sure to check out the Astrology Day Lost Ark Q&A below:
Lost Ark’s own pantheon of gods are heavily inspired by real-life constellations. What references might players be able to find?
The seven gods of Arkesia are all named after stars found in real-life constellations:
God of Order, Regulus: The brightest star in the zodiacal constellation Leo.
God of Honor, Procyon: The brightest star in the constellation Canis Minor.
Goddess of Wisdom, Sceptrum: In the original Korean, their name is “Crater”, which is taken directly from the Crater Constellation.
God of Fire, Antares: The brightest star in the constellation of Scorpius.
God of Life, Aldebaran: The brightest star in the constellation of Taurus.
God of Earth, Arcturus: The fourth brightest star in the constellation of Bootes.
God of Frost, Sirius: The brightest star in the constellation of Canis Major.
In Lost Ark’s lore, the Omnium Stars make up the constellations of the night sky in Arkesia. How was this inspired by real-world mythology?
Much like ancient mythology, the creation of Lost Ark’s starlore is inspired by tales of gods and goddesses immortalising heroes and their beloved into stars and constellations. The Omnium Stars are similar, in that they are formed from traces of the fallen Guardians in the wake of the dimension war, which were sent into the night sky to become the Omnium Stars as Arkesians now know them. By becoming Omnium Stars, the fallen Guardians have returned to their original form – light – following similar themes of ascension often seen in tales of mythology.
Players can collect all ten of the Omnium Stars. What sort of rewards can players expect once they become available to them?
There’s a total of ten Omnium Stars in Lost Ark for players to find. By gathering Omnium Stars and giving those to Albion (a Guardian themselves), players can get various rewards such as:
Stat potions
Skill point potions
Skill Runes
By gathering eight, players can get a special toy that makes them shimmer like a star.
By gathering all ten, players can accept a quest that gives them a unique wallpaper:
If players are interested in learning more about Lost Ark’s astrology, where can they go in Arkesia to find out more?
There are some places where players can find observatories in the game, dedicated to the study of Arkesia’s night sky.
The most famous two are Luterra’s Nineveh Observatory and Elgacia’s Observatory:
Luterra: The nation of knights, has a group of astrologers that observe Omnium, the great space. Astrologers strive to make connections between the order of stars and their history.
Elgacia: The floating land of the Lazeniths, also has an observatory for similar purposes.
If players want to take in the night sky (and perhaps catch a meteor shower), what are some good spots to visit?
For players looking to see a beautiful night sky, Starlight Isle should be top of the list. Featuring a lighthouse, low hanging blue moon and a still night sky, it’s an ideal place to do some stargazing!
The Shadowmoon Market also has great views of both the night sky, as well as fireflies and blue glimmering butterflies. There’s plenty of merchants and shops to visit as well as a few spots to take in the ambience.
On Astella Island, players can see shooting stars, and also can gather Star Fragments themselves. There are a lot of Astronomers on the island, working day and night to uncover the secret of stars that regularly fall from the night sky.
Finally, Drumbeat Island is also a good place to watch starry skies too, perpetually on the cusp of daybreak. But be careful: some astronomers have reported that it’s not just meteors that fall down there.
Note that all those that collect all ten Omnium Stars will be able to get themselves some stellar (heh) rewards – including a custom wallpaper and a glowing toy that gives players the opportunity to shimmer like a star.
