Portugal’s ANZV has arrived with a new song called “Imdugud,” off their upcoming album, Kur. The album is an all-enveloping atmospheric black metal composition with shades of death metal and waves of mystery cloaking the listener as every second passes. The band’s sound will be welcome to fans of Uada, Vanum, and Wolves in the Throne Room — along with particular eras of other bands (e.g., Satanist-era Behemoth).
The video for the song features an entrancing visualization of the album artwork, which fits the song’s vibe perfectly, as the shifting strokes dovetail with the flowing riffs and punishing rhythms. If you dig this, you can find more information about Kur here. The album is due out on May 30 via Edged Circle Productions.
