Video Premiere: Drouth – “The Teeth of Time”

Some bands just know how to find that right mix of aggression and melody to make truly engrossing, memorable tunes. That’s a good way to describe Portland, Oregon’s Drouth, along with their new song, “The Teeth of Time,” the title track off their upcoming album. Decibel sure digs what the band does, and is proud to present the song and video to you here.

The song shows the band’s ability to capture two black metal voices and blend them seamlessly together: flowing atmospheres and raw melodic aggression. A lot of bands out there do something similar and make it boring. Not these guys.

According to the band:

“”The Teeth of Time” was an obvious choice for us to make the title track and centerpiece of the album, as it encapsulates the lyrical and musical themes most central to Drouth at this moment. It is the fullest realization of our artistic ambition yet, and having our friends Laurie Sue and Christy contribute guest vocals was truly an honor—their projects, Ludicra in particular, are huge sources of inspiration for us and we knew their distinctive styles would fit perfectly with the song.”

Check out the song and video (crafted by Jason DeSomer, using the album art by guitarist/vocalist Matt Stikker) below. The Teeth of Time comes out on May 16.
