Where they from?
New York. This past weekend the New York Knicks eliminated the Boston Celtics in the NBA playoffs to reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. I am only tangentially a basketball fan but I’m a big fan of any Boston team eating a wet bag of shit. Sorry, Kristaps Porzingus Pingus or whatever the fuck your name is, you and your weird alien body are just gonna have to wait until next year, baby.
Why the hype?
I didn’t realize until halfway through this week that this band features Vincent from the Acacia Strain on vocals! As such, this a very mosh-heavy project that might turn off some of the more gatekeeper-y readers of this column but for the rest of us, it’s quite a jolly good time! It’s basically pretty raw powerviolence/grind but with deathcore breakdowns which is a pretty interesting combination that ends up landing somewhere close to the realm of bands like Ground and newer ACXDC.
Latest Release?
Demo 2025, self-released. Like I said earlier, if you aren’t a coward and enjoy mosh parts, this one is for you. ‘The Glorious Arrival of the New Lord and Savior’ has one of those fast, Slipknottish chugging parts that just makes me so happy, just like a Jalen Brunson three-pointer. WERE GOING ALL THE WAY!
