Track Premiere: Mass Deception: “Selling Souls! Buying Lies!”

Dutch thrashers Mass Deception are taking us to the fabled crossroads in their new video and single, “Selling Souls! Buying Lies!,” which is pretty much exactly what you might imagine. Except it’s not, apparently. Nope, Satan doesn’t seem to be the bad guy here, unless the devil has taken on a very different physical form and resembles a robed alien. Well, whatever, in less than three minutes, these dudes—John Klaus (vocals), Sanders (drums), Waltmans (guitars), Bänziger (guitars), Van Den Beuken (bass)—thrash through a punky blitzkrieg of a track with a warning worth heeding that you probably shouldn’t sell your soul. It never ends well. The track is the latest single from the band’s upcoming third full-length, Resurrections.

Resurrections was mixed and mastered at the renowned Soundlodge Studios, and it’s set for release on July 25 on CD, vinyl and digitally via Gruesome Records. Place your preorder here.

Guitarist Bänziger had this to say about the track:

“It doesn’t matter if you are looking for fame or fortune, women and wealth, or if you are just an old soul seeking redemption. Old Nick can help you out! A small sacrifice is all he asks for in return. There are many ways to desecrate a soul and evil comes in many forms, but even the devil himself fears this ancient cosmic malevolence. Harvesting souls is nothing compared to the power of this interstellar titan.”
