Video Premiere: Famous Strangers – “l.S.C.”

Famous Strangers have shared a new video for the song “L.S.C.,” out now ahead of their festival appearances this summer. Check out the video below.

The melodic, classic Canadian band are particularly stoked on their new track and the message behind it.

“’LSC’ is one of the first songs that all four of us in Famous Strangers wrote together from start to finish, and we’re incredibly proud of how it turned out,” says guitarist. Jeff Kittlitz. “It’s raw; it’s intense, and it represents exactly where we are as a band right now, fearless in our songwriting and unafraid to blend melody with brutality.

“Lyrically, the concept was born from Amanda’s fascination with how creatures like black widow spiders and praying mantises mate and then destroy their partners. That tension between beauty and danger, intimacy and destruction, runs through every part of this track. It’s not just a song about relationships; it’s about power, creation, and consequence wrapped in metaphor.

Musically, it evolved right up until we hit record. Some of the drum parts were written in the studio on the day of tracking, which gave everything a visceral, in-the-moment energy. The track was recorded at The Audio Department in Edmonton, with drums tracked by Phil Anderson. Guitars were recorded in our own studio; vocals were tracked separately, and bass was actually laid down during the drum sessions, Braden nailed it before we even realized that was the plan.

“We were lucky to work with an incredible team: Joel Wanasek on mixing, Maor Appelbaum mastering, and Phil Anderson again on engineering. They all helped bring this song to life with polish and power.

“The artwork, created by Art Szabo of Art Szabo Creative in Kelowna, B.C., reflects the essence of the track perfectly. Art Szabo has been our designer since the beginning, and his work has been absolutely nothing but amazing on this. The title ‘LSC,’ though hidden within the spider web, anchors the entire visual identity of the song. It’s not just an acronym; it’s the core of everything.

“The music video was a DIY effort backed by an amazing support crew. It was directed, shot, and edited by Brad Thompson. Special effects and pyro were handled by Lord Heathen Val from Zimmer’s Hole and Gravemass, along with Katt Milsome. We also had special effects makeup by Molly Rasmussen, a talented artist and close friend of Amanda’s. Also Kyle Ferguson helped out huge with male acting role. A thank you to Nakita Braids and Taylor Thorne. Every detail was built by us, sets, vision, story, and captured exactly the way we imagined it.

“We spent carefully, but we didn’t cut corners. This video reflects our commitment to authenticity and our drive to create something that feels as big and bold as the song itself. It’s our proudest work to date.”
