Video Premiere: MRSA – “I Am the Swarm”

Lake Worth, Florida five-piece MRSA aren’t the first death metal band to draw inspiration for their songs from horror flicks, but they get major marks for their commitment to the shtick. From the ghastly masks to the staunch dedication to accompanying their splatterific death metal with lyrics inspired by horror classics, they are completely immersed in the cinematic genre. Together since 2013—Dean Corpse (vokills), Joe Dwyer (guitar), Cory Bickford (guitar), Johnny Honeycutt (bass), Brett Ackling (drums)—MRSA are finally set to unleash their 12-song debut, Horrifier, via CDN Records.

Horrifier is set for release in late summer/early fall. You can place your preorder and get more info about the band here or here.

Vocalist Dean Corpse had this to say about the new track and upcoming full-length:

“‘I Am the Swarm’ is the first sweet taste of this album’s full intensity and heaviness. This song is based on Clive Barker’s infamous story ‘The Forbidden,’ which was the basis of the film Candyman. As an entity of urban myth reclaims his spiritual acclaim to non-believers to maintain his namesake so he may live forever.

We cannot wait for everyone to finally hear this album. It’s been a true labor of love to bring these tracks to life; a lot of blood went into them. Prepare your ears, ’cause what is blood for, if not for shedding? Be our victim! “
