Video Premiere: Nuclear Dudes – “Truth Paste”

If you’ve got literally a minute to spare, we’d like to subject you to the latest video, “Truth Paste,” from Pacific Northwest grind/powerviolence lunatics, Nuclear Dudes, the irreverent experimental extreme music project from Jon Weisnewski (Akimbo, Sandrider). For the fifth Nuclear Dudes full-length, Truth Paste, Weisnewski is joined by vocalist Brandon Nakamura (Doomsday 1999, Cat Toy, Teen Cthulhu) and hilarity ensues. The pair have put together a video for the title track and it is as suitably insane and obtuse as the song it accompanies. There is, of course, tooth brushing, an obligatory shower scene and it’s all wrapped up with what looks like footage of a retirement home conga line. Like we said, if you’ve got a minute, you won’t be disappointed by what you see and hear. We can’t really explain it any better than that.

Truth Paste was recorded by Weisnewski, mixed by Matt Bayles and mastered by Ed Brooks. It will be released digitally via Bandcamp on September 5. Go here to preorder.

Nuclear Dudes had this to say about the video:

“Our in-house animation department was on a tight deadline, juggling a variety of clients, so we had to outsource the ‘Truth Paste’ asset to trusted vendors. Despite changes in scope and numerous unreliable product owners (putting executive scrutiny on our KPIs), we eventually got the project on a predictable timeline. Early usability reports were promising. After a few rapid rounds of analytics and targeted pivots, the team was able to land certification release requirements and hit the launch window. Postmortem reported minimal downtick in team morale or productivity. We are awaiting shareholder response. Please enjoy ‘Truth Paste.’”
