Revealed during gamescom’s Future Games Show earlier today, Heart Machine and Arc Games’ stylish co-op roguelike Hyper Light Breaker is getting that much bigger with today’s free major update “Double Down.”
Now available for Hyper Light Breaker, the free Double Down update brings the following content to the title:
New Crown (Boss)
Hyper Light Breaker Fans will have to contend with the deadly duo Bersia and Vesia.
Commonly known as “The Twins” within the Overgrowth, Hyper Light Breaker players will take on both at once.
New Breaker (Playable Character) – “Gravenheart”
The new Breaker Gravenheart has joined Pherus Bit and her team of Breakers.
Hailing from the Shattered Fortress, Graveheart specializes inmore of a Tank role in battle compared to other Breakers.
New Points of Interest, Including “Sky Labs”
New to Hyper Light Breaker is “Sky Labs,”,a series of floating islands found above the Overgrowth
Players can now officially enter these locations as part of the Double Down Update, with Sky Labs continuing to evolve over the course of Hyper Light Breaker’s Early Access period.
New Difficulty System, the “Glitch” System
Those who successfully complete their first run within the Overgrowth will be able to take on new challenges await with the Glitch System.
A new game plus-style difficulty system, this will give Hyper Light Breaker players the ability to enable modifiers to make their next run more deadly. Note that the harder the overall difficulty, the greater the challenge and rewards.
This system is set to evolve over the course of Early Access, and be complete by Hyper Light Breaker’s 1.0 launch.
Soup Master Shop (Noodle Bar)
Finally, Hyper Light Breaker players will be able to collect ingredients in a run and spend them at the Soup Master Shop to gain a temporary buff that lasts for the next run.
