Blast Worship: Internal Rot

Where they from? Melbourne, Australia.
With football season nearly upon us, I guess I should make my Super Bowl prediction here. As loathe as I am to say it I think the Philadelphia Eagles will represent the NFC and the Baltimore Ravens will finally break through and make their first Super Bowl appearance of the Lamar Jackson era, and I think they’re gonna win it all! And yes, the Jets will still suck.

Why the hype?
Unlike the New York Jets, Internal Rot are consistently awesome. This is high-functioning, slimy, crust-fueled grindcore that feels like it was recorded in a basement in Hell. The guitarist likes to use a lot of chromatic riffs that pair rather nicely with the drummer’s furious blasting and the singer sounds like he’s vomiting up blood in the studio. What a lovely combination.

Latest release?
Split with Mutilated Cop out now on Nerve Altar. I wanna use this space to shout out newcomers Mutilated Cop who very much hold their own on this split release with the Australian legends. They sound similar to Internal Rot but much MINCIER and seem to despise the police, which is always a big plus. Not often you get a split where both sides kick this much ass, but here we are. Perfect soundtrack for the frustration of upcoming Jet losses.
