Apex Legends: Showdown Mid-Season Update Detailed
As part of Apex Legends: Showdown’s Wild Iron Event, Rampart will come in hot with a new weapon collaboration. Dubbed “Fuse of the Flatline,” this collaboration weapon features bullets that occasionally explode on impact, placing a bomb on knocked enemies.
Mad Maggie has also received some changes as part of Apex Legends: Showdown’s mid-season update that provide more reliability and team utility to compete against other Legends.
On top of Riot Drill’s firing animation being sped up by 10% and Wrecking Ball’s throw animation being sped up 25%, her new Gunrunning upgrade gives Mad Maggie more flexibility with her close-range weapons.
Seer is also being brought back into the meta, with the team aiming to provide more in-combat power, all while avoiding issues that originally made him feel oppressive as an opponent.
Apex Legends players will also be able to craft a number of new Wild Cards as part of this mid-season update. This, in turn, will let players get the edge over rival squads, with new abilities like marking enemies with explosive damage or instant reload on knock available.
Apex Legends’ engine has also received a number of tweaks. For instance, shader count has been reduced by nearly 50%, thereby improving performance and startup times on platforms like the PC. CPU usage will also be reduced through the use of bindless resources for particle and FX rendering.
