Full Album Stream: Cult Member –GORE

I dunno if it speaks more to the quality of Cult Member’s  music or Norway’s openness to extreme sounds, but this ripping hardcore crossover quartet received a Spellemann nomination (Norway’s answer to the Grammys) for their 2022 debut, Infinite Death.  They’re back with album number two, GORE, and ready to slash, bash and stomp through nine new speedy, aggressive tracks, raging away like a Scandinavian D.R.I. or Municipal Waste. Lots of  metal riffing, mosh-worthy breakdowns and throaty vocals. Might be another Spelleman nom in the future for these dudes, maybe this time with a win.

GORE will be available digitally on September 19 via Loyal Blood Records. You can presave it here.

Here’s what the band had to say about its latest slab:

GORE is an album we have been working on for several years, predating the release of Infinite Death. This album is much rawer and metal-oriented than our first record. It contains “longer” tracks, chuggy riffs, and brutal d-beats. It’s a record instrumentally inspired by bands like DRI, (mid 2000s) Darkthrone, and Power Trip. The lyrics are largely inspired by ’80s splatter horror, with certain tracks containing strong takes on our current politically fucked social climate. This is a record with bludgeonigly hard riffs, brutally fierce vocals and thunderously powerful drumming. We are very proud of this record, and we hope you have a good time listening to it.”
