Global Pop Round-Up: September 2025 Edition

The Bias List is a K-pop blog that also covers a fair amount of J-pop. But just like most music fans, I enjoy tracks from all around the world. So, I thought I’d start a monthly round-up of some of the non-K-pop songs that have caught my ear. No ratings — just highlights!

Agnes – EGO

This is the best song yet from her upcoming album. It’s everything I love about Agnes’s music. The subtle operatic flourishes are sprinkles on top of an already delicious pop confection.

Ava Max – Don’t Click Play

I have a soft spot for Ava and feel bad about how things have been going. The new album is solid (if generic) and this opening track is a total banger.

CATTY – 4am (Back In His Bed)

I just discovered CATTY and love her work. Really great pop songs, fully fleshed out past the three minute mark. This is her most recent track but I recommend listening to last year’s EP first.

Demi Lovato – Here All Night

This dance sound is going really well for her.

Doja Cat – Jealous Type

I’m just obsessed with her shift into late-80’s r&b/freestyle. This is a total banger and I can’t wait for the album.

Dove Cameron – Whatever You Like

We need an album! Every song has been great.

Haute & Freddy – Freaks

This duo perfectly captures the spirit and sound of 80s new wave and this might just be their best song yet. Perfect for Halloween and the dance floor!

IVXN – Atacama

I loved his single earlier in the year and this is another ultra-rhythmic wonder.

Jade – Unconditional

The new album is fantastic and I really like this song. The sentimental With Every Heartbeat synth strings coupled with moments of brash explosion form a satisfying contrast.

Julie Bergan – Make Myself Happy

A high-octane banger.

KeiiNO – Demon Of Your Love

This is a slight change in sound for them and works very well. Love the French house and disco influence.

Khiari – Webb Of Destruction

Very Michael Jackson coded (that’s practically a Thriller sample, right?), which will always win my heart.

Lady Gaga – The Dead Dance

I was initially underwhelmed by this new single simply because there are stronger songs on the original album, but I’ve come around to it in a pretty big way.

LEXXE – Urban Legend

She’s a bop machine and deserves SO much more recognition than she gets. This is fantastic.

Neea River – Blue Deja Vu

She spoils us with so much new music.

Nemo – Hocus Pocus

Theatrical pop from the former Eurovision winner.

Red Sebastian – Turn On The Lights

Red Sebastian’s new album is wall-to-wall bangers and this is one of the best!

Rose Gray – April

Taken from the upcoming deluxe version of her album, this is one of her strongest dance tracks yet.

Sigrid – Fort Knox

Oh, I love this song so much. It’s an anthem in the most addictive way.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Glamorous

Her return to disco is a total success on the new album. This is one highlight.

Valencia Grace – Super Elastic

Very Gaga inspired dance pop.
