Video Premiere: IATT – “An Ode To Solace”

Sometimes, the creation of compelling and memorable art requires seclusion and the removal of all distractions. And that’s what the band IATT chose to pursue to make their new song, “An Ode to Solace.” It’s an epic, powerful, and crushing blend of progressive and symphonic black and death metal.

I know there’s lots of bands doing this sort of thing lately, but this is really good. The band has a great mind for songwriting dynamics and did an excellent job here to create drama and use moments of quiet to make the loud moments hit even harder. I went ahead and checked out their super-old stuff when they were called I Am The Trireme and you can hear the foundations from those days (they sounded a lot like early Abigail Willams mixed with Bleeding Through and Winds of Plague … I did it, ngl) still present here while also noticing the growth that’s taken place since (they now sound like Ne Oblivscaris but a little easier to get into).

According to the band:

“In the fall of 2024, we escaped to a secluded cabin deep in the Pennsylvania mountains. No phones, no noise, just us and the stillness of nature. Those days shaped “An Ode To Solace” — a song born from reflection, isolation, and raw connection to the world around us. We even recorded the wilderness itself, weaving its sound into the track. It’s one of the most personal things we’ve ever created.”

Check out the video below, maybe we’ll get a new album soon as well!
