Battlefield 6 Review

After two very successful betas, Battlefield Studios and EA’s Battlefield 6 enters the, uh, battlefield.

See whether players should take up arms with our review.

Battlefield 6 Review

Battlefield 6 is broken up into two modes: Campaign and Multiplayer.

Battlefield 6’s Campaign sets players off on a globe-trotting expedition to stop the Pax Armata military group.

Things kick off with tense peace, with one’s unit getting ready to hand a base off to the Pax Armata.

Players are a proud member of Dagger 13: a group of elite Marines sent to make everything go smoothly.

NARRATOR: Things don’t go smoothly – and a war with Pax Armata ensues.

While not a long Campaign, many of Battlefield 6’s missions can feel like they take forever.

As one takes on the Pax Armata in Battlefield 6, players are taught how each class works. One even gets behind the wheel with some vehicle training! Battlefield 6’s Campaign serves as a solid tutorial for those looking to prep before Multiplayer.

Just don’t expect to remember many of characters’ names by the end…

Battlefield 6’s shooting is on point.

While it’s still hard to overcome an LMG having no recoil, shooting in Battlefield 6 works brilliantly.

Put simply, everything in Battlefield 6 works just as you’d want it to.

Assault Rifles in Battlefield 6 have that oh-so-satisfying pop, and kills pack just the right sound to make you hunt for more. Shotguns are one-hit kills at point-blank range – a true menace in the back lines.

Even Battlefield 6’s sniper rifles have just the right power – much to my dismay.

At least there are a ton of buildings to take cover…

Now for Battlefield 6’s main attraction: Multiplayer.

Battlefield 6’s suite of modes and options in Multiplayer is like no other.

Players can choose between small maps with only infantry and small arms, medium maps with select vehicles and higher tech gear, and then the full-scale large maps with choppers, tanks, vehicles, and support for 64 players.

Battlefield 6 has somebody for everyone – and the chaos to match.

In Battlefield 6, one doesn’t need to be a good shot to make a difference.

For instance, one can play a medic in Battlefield 6 as they heal allies and revive downed teammates. Alternatively, one can be a mechanic and ride in a vehicle as they repair tanks and other armor.

Rather be a scumbag? Battlefield 6 even lets players hide in a corner with a sniper rifle and a respawn beacon.

Of course, Battlefield 6 lets players roll out with the assault class and move with big speed boosts and assault rifle proficiency.

Variety is the spice of life in Battlefield 6 – play around with classes until one clicks.

We gravitated toward Battlefield 6’s large maps – the call of tanks and choppers drew us as we assumed the role of an engineer.

When it comes to Battlefield 6’s maps and armor, forward-thinking is required.

Rushing in to take points will just get one’s tank blown up – then the enemy has one’s tank over your zero.

Do the math.

Rather, strategic play is crucial in Battlefield 6.

Players will need to move slowly as they support the infantry while it takes points.

One can run into enemy armor and engage, sure, but the smart move is to use buildings and other obstacles to avoid a straight-up shot-for-shot fight.

Those that keep their tanks on the field longer in Battlefield 6 will more than often come out ahead.

However, when someone is so good in a chopper or jet in Battlefield 6, they never die – what a dilemma.

This proves to be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, the best players should comandeer the vehicles.

That being said, it’s not very fun for other players.

Lord help if the enemy team has a good pilot and tank player the same match.

Protip for console players: Turn that crossplay OFF.

When it comes to Battlefield 6’s Multiplayer, keep a careful eye how weapons are built.

Guns can be leveled through use, thereby improved by kitting them out with sights, grips, silencers, and other equipment.

Battlefield 6 encourages players to have multiple loadouts of the same weapon, as some levels have buildings everywhere while others are more flat deserts. Those that stay within the point threshold in Battlefield 6 can customize their weaponry in countless ways.

Battlefield 6 also lets one customize their vehicle weapons as well!

That being said, getting said attachments in Battlefield 6 requires XP – and that’s where the Challenges come into play.

Each day, Battlefield 6 provides three new Challenges to complete, along with a set that resets weekly. These Challenges allow one to get to Battlefield 6’s deeper character and class challenges that give the good skins and weapon camos.

Battlefield 6 provides countless opportunities in its Multiplayer.

Unfortunately, Battlefield 6’s destruction isn’t as good as we’ve come to expect.

Our tank should roll over a bus like it’s nothing – not get stuck on it – and crashing through buildings isn’t always a guarantee. While we do know there has to be a balance, we yearned for more tank destruction.

Oddly enough, we weren’t able to cook my frag grenades…

That being said, there were no frame drops or crashes throughout the Battlefield 6 review period.

Battlefield 6 is the best Battlefield entry in years, taking the fight to Call of Duty this holiday season.
