Full Album Stream: Scorching Tomb –Ossuary

Death metal in French is still “death metal” and with that factoid we introduce you to Montreal DM quartet Scorching Tomb, who are on the verge of releasing their debut full-length, Ossuary, five years after forming. Ossuary is everything a death metal album named after “a container or room full of bones” promises. With tracks like “Stalagmite Impalement,” “Skullcrush,” “Diminished to Ashes” and “Expired Existence,” it is suitably obsessed with la mort. To make matters even gnarlier, the quartet—Vincent Patrick-Lajeunesse (vocals), Philippe Leblanc (guitars/backing vocals), Miguel Lepage (bass), Émile Savard (drums)—are assisted by Sanguisugabogg vocalist Devin Swank on “Skullcrush.”

Ossuary was recorded, mixed and mastered by Dominic Grimard in Montréal between February and September 2024. It’s set for release on CD, vinyl, cassette and digitally on October 24, via Time to Kill Records . Place your preorder here.

The band had this to say about its full-length debut:

”If you asked us how we wanted our first LP to sound five years ago, you would be listening to Ossuary. Carefully crafted, this 28-minute death metal/hardcore crossover couldn’t be more true to our vision. Loaded with lethal, catchy riffs and enough two-steps to make any hardcore kid crowdkill his way to the pit, Ossuary is a straight-up killing machine.”
