When exploring The Outer Worlds 2, the Commander will often encounter areas of high toxicity. Various environmental factors, such as Zyranium, stop the player from exploring areas. Spending too long in a Zyranium field without proper preparation results in the death of the player character.
In this guide, we’ll explain how to unlock the technology to enter the Zyranium fields. You need to find and complete the side quest An Aegis Against The Miasma.
The side quest can be found at the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center, in the very South East corner of the map. This is a restricted location. This means that, if you enter without proper authority, you will be forced to kill all the guards, and you won’t be able to do the quest.
To gain access to the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center, you need an Access Pass. This can be found at the Ministry of Access. Head into the Ministry of Access and work your way to the top floor, using all of the computer terminals on the way. This will allow you to print an Access Pass.
Once you have the Access Pass, return to Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center and speak with the guards. They will accept the credentials. You can tell when you have access as the barrier to entry will turn blue, and you will see the words “Access Granted” in the lower left, near the radar, where it would otherwise state “Tresspassing”.
Once inside, speak with Chief Deviser Delphinia Bryant. She will give you the quest An Aegis Against The Miasma that, once completed, will unlock a new technology upgrade that allows you to survive inside the Zyranium zones for extended periods.
