A Kollection of Klassics, Digital Eclipse and Atari are letting players Test their Might with the release of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection.
Featuring klassic hits and deep kuts alike, should players get toasty this fall?
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Review
The Mortal Kombat series has got a number of titles to its name across all platforms. When there are multiple entries across multiple platforms, how’s a fan supposed to get their Fatalies in?
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection serves as the de-facto Mortal Kombat collection, offering more than 20 games that span multiple arcade, console, and handheld platforms – the console wars are over!
16-bit action can be found with the Super Nintendo and SEGA Genesis releases many grew up with (us included), but one can also step things up with Mortal Kombat entries found on the Sony PlayStation and even the mushroom-looking SEGA 32X expansion!
We especially love how Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat: Special Forces made the Kut – these two titles are just the thing for those looking for something out of the ordinary with its beat-em-up action.
There are even Game Boy and Game Gear entries looking to bring the portable action to the big screen.
Just gloss over Mortal Kombat Advance for the Game Boy Advance – treat it more as a Kuriosity and nothing more…
Don’t even think Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is a straight set of ports; this kollection features a number of features that let players “git gud” in style. There’s even a Kombat Kard to show off your victories.
Remember those tips and tricks you scribbled and printed off of GameFAQs all those years ago? Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection lets players instantly unlock all secret characters, features an on-screen move list, and even packs a Fatality Trainer.
Of course, Mortal Kombat is better with friends – that’s what “Friendship” is all about, right?
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection has got players covered there as well with rollback netcode and a streamlined Versus Mode. While we wish cross-platform play was included, what is present here is still worthy of any Kombatant.
The development team also stated an Online Arcade mode will make its way to Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, so time will tell.
Rounding things out in Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is a massive Krypt full of content. We especially love the video content that chronicles the making of Mortal Kombat – it’s incredibly flawless, full of polish and details that we never knew.
We especially love how they got top talent like Ed Boon and Jeff Gerstmann to share insights – along with trips to Galloping Ghost Arcade to chronicle Mortal Mania firsthand!
The fight is calling in Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, promising a Kollection of Klassics that prove to be the ultimate way to Test One’s Might.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake’s collection of JRPGs provides a truly excellent nostalgia trip. For those seeking a cozy fall, be sure to swap out one’s pumpkin spice lattes for its signature turn-based action.
While greatly enjoyable on its own, PowerWash Simulator 2 is one of those games that is better together with friends. If you have a buddy in tow, don’t hesitate to get washing!
Jurassic World Evolution 3 is the single best entry in the series to date – and it’s not even close.
The Outer Worlds 2 is Obsidian Entertainment’s best work to date – a perfect RPG for those seeking an old-school approach, one with more substance than expanse.
While we thoroughly enjoy Dispatch’s gameplay and story, its cliffhangers will have you desperately begging for the rest of its content.
