Full Album Stream: Mourn the Light –Sorrow Feeds the Silence

Formed eight-plus years ago in New England as a doomy metal outfit, Connecticut quintet Mourn the Light have transformed into more of a power metal-leaning band on their upcoming second full-length, Sorrow Feeds the Silence. The nine-track long-player features the debut of new vocalist, Andy Small, whose soaring range works well with the galloping, trad-leaning tracks and fiery axe pyrotechnics. You can hear the years Mourn the Light—rounded out by Dwayne Eldredge (lead guitars/backing vocals), Kieran Beaty (guitars/backing vocals), Bill Herrick (bass), Kyle Hebner (drums)—have spent honing their craft. The songs are majestic and powerful and the arrangements tight and dynamic.

Sorrow Feeds the Silence was recorded by Kieran Beaty and Andy Small and mixed and mastered by Jack Kosto. Drums were recorded in Vermont by Kieran Beaty and Dean Beauchamp. It’s set for release on CD, vinyl and digitally via Argonauta Records on November 14. Place your preorder here (EU) or here (US).

The band had this to say about its latest:

Sorrow Feeds the Silence, our new full-length, is a doom-laden, classic metal thrill ride where we wrestle beauty and catharsis out of the darkest corners of life’s trials and tribulations. Featuring our incendiary melting pot of doom, power and traditional heavy metal, with soaring vocals and progressive flights of fancy, it’s sure to find a place in the hearts and minds of the metal faithful far and wide.”
