2025 Game Industry Salary Report Released

Based on July 2025 survey results of a survey of industry members, the GDC Festival of Gaming team has released the 2025 Game Industry Salary Report.

Now available via its official website, the 2025 Game Industry Salary Report provides a new, transparent look at game industry salaries across a range of positions, studio sizes, disciplines, identities, and other factors. 

Highlights of the 2025 Game Industry Salary Report can be found below:

The average salary for US-based game industry professionals in 2025 was around $142,000, which 60% said was at least a slight increase from their 2024 salary. 

Around 80% of employed respondents said their current salary meets or exceeds their basic needs. 

98% of respondents rate the game industry as less secure than others, and 29% of them said they are unlikely to stay (21% were unsure)

A sample size of 562 United States-based 562 game industry professionals were surveyed, with the survey itself featuring a 3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level.
