Let’s kick off Turkey Day week with a hearty, satisfying plate of Swedish death metal, smothered in grave-y (ouch). Gnashing duo Carnal Savagery are unleashing their relentlessly punishing seventh full-length, Crypt of Decay, and we’re here to serve it up warm, like a freshly eviscerated pile of innards. Leaving behind the feeble food analogies, the pair behind Carnal Savagery—Mikael Lindgren (guitars/bass/drums) and Mattias Liija (vocals)—have issued a full frontal assault on the senses via their old-school mash-up of Euro DM scuzz and West Coast thrashing precision, a potent and ugly mixture of sounds and styles.
Crypt of Decay was recorded at Studio LV5, Sweden, and mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound Studios. It’s set for release on viny, CD and digitally on November 28 via Moribund Records. Place your preorder here.
