Full EP Stream: Kakihara –Love Songs Part 2

The five blistering tracks on Scottish metallic hardcore outfit Kakihara‘s new EP, Love Songs Part 2, may in fact be love songs, but it’s hard to ascertain due to all the general yelling and raging over the course of 10 minutes offered here. Let’s just say these aren’t exactly tender love songs, as far as we can tell (“Calamari” doesn’t give us the warm fuzzies), but your earholes may feel tender after a time or two through the EP. These dudes—Keith Muddiman (vocals), Gary Hollingsworth (drums), Biff Paris (bass), Fraser McNeill (guitar), Kris Kournavos (guitar)—flat out lay the lumber, accenting their “beatdoons” with a thick Scottish brogue.

Love Songs Part 2 was recorded and mixed by guitarist Kris Kournavos and mastered by Fader Mastering. It’s set for release on CD and digitally on December 5 via Ripcord Records. Place your preorder here.

The band summarized the new like this:

“We made Love Songs Part 2 the only way we knew how—eight out of ten minutes of DIY hardcore chaos shaped by the same raw energy we bring to live shows, but in a living room. We’re grateful for everyone who has given/is giving/will give us a chance, and to Ripcord Records for helping us along the way. Two words: Big. Stupit. Beatdoons.”
