Where they from?
Los Angeles, California. What an exciting week of football it was. Bears/Packers was an all-time classic as was Rams/Seahawks. Of course the Jets shit the bed against a woeful Saints team but that doesn’t matter as Trevor Lawrence almost single-handedly won me my fantasy football semifinal. That sweet, sweet $300 ($296 after Venmo fees) is mine, MINE GODDAMMIT!
Why the hype?
The most BRUTAL band on the planet hath returned! 2025 was a busy year for the godfathers of Hyper Gore Blast as the past 12 months have seen them release two full-lengths, a split EP and a reissuing of earlier material. Someone trying to get on that NICE list. For those unfamiliar, Sulfuric Cautery feature some of the most cartoonishly fast drumming this side of Bryan Fajardo along with layers upon layers of brutal death riffing and beautifully pitch-shifted goregrind vocals. Every modern goregrind band is basically playing in their malicious shadow and no one truly even broaches the disgusting territory these lads have made their nest in.
Latest release?
Consummate Extirpation out now on Blast Addict. The longer song lengths here bring the band into more brutal death metal territory, basically like a basement goregrind version of Putridity. Every song is a gore-soaked roller coaster of demented, demonic half-time swings and eviscerating blasts. I am mystified that this band just continues to get more intense with each release, they are like the Beatles of goregrind.
