Track Premiere: Clouds Taste Satanic – “Beast From the Sea”

New York instrumental doom outfit Clouds Taste Satanic are introducing an ongoing series of new “recorded in the studio” live albums, and we’re stoked to be premiering a brand new track, “Beast From the Sea,” from their latest entry, Berlin 2023. This new full-length is a follow-up to last year’s Birmingham 2024 and the band—Steve Scavuzzo (guitar), Rob Halstead (bass), Greg Acampora (drums), Brian Bauhs (guitar)—describes it as “a no overdub document of the band’s set while on tour in Europe that year.” The track we’re featuring is a full-on mountain-moving crusher that thuds away as a multitude of riffs and snaky leads unfurl like wisps of weed-scented smoke.

Berlin 2023 was recorded and engineered by Nene Baratto at Big Snuff Studios in Berlin in May 2023, and mixed and mastered by Ajeet “Hellfire” Gill. It’s set for release on yellow vinyl, CD and digitally on March 6 via Kinda Like Music. Place your preorder here.

The band described the track we’re premiering as such:

“‘Beast From the Sea’ first reared its head on the Your Doom Has Come album from 2015.  We love it because it is a relentless blast of energy that never lets up for its entire four minutes and fifty-six seconds.  No dynamics, just heavy.”
