MMO Pioneer Jack Emmert Returns as Cryptic Studios CEO

Widely regarded as one of the architects of modern day MMOs, Arc Games and Cryptic Studios announced that Jack Emmert will serve as the new CEO of Cryptic Studios. 

During Jack Emmert’s earlier tenure at Cryptic Studios, he launched and expanded MMOs that reshaped the video game industry, setting new worldbuilding standards within MMOs and attracted millions of players around the world.

His commitment to innovation, player‑driven design, and long‑term worldbuilding — values that remain central to Cryptic Studios’ identity. 

As CEO of Cryptic Studios, Jack Emmert will oversee the studio’s existing portfolio of live service games and lead the future of the studio alongside new projects.

Jack Emmert | Returns to Cryptic Studios as CEO

Jack Emmert, returning CEO of Cryptic Studios, said the following:

Cryptic Studios will host a live Q&A livestream with Jack Emmert via Cryptic Studios’ official Twitch channel on February 3 at 11am PT. During this time, players can get the chance to hear more about his vision for the Cryptic Studios’ future. 

Jack Emmert will also take part in a Reddit AMA on Neverwinter’s r/Neverwinter subreddit beginning February 4 at 9am PT, and on Star Trek Online’s r/STO subreddit the same day, on February 4 at 11am PT.
