Dutch hardcore OGs Backfire! are steps away from putting the pin in a 30-plus year career and they’re giving fans one last release before they go. The Last Confession is a mini-album, consisting of five tracks that put a bow on the band’s career and the various influences they’ve had over the years, from Madball, Agnostic Front and Biohazard to 2000s-era bands like Comeback Kid and Terror.
Backfire! have been somewhat tight-lipped about their retirement, offering little in the way of personal statements and choosing to let the music speak for itself. With songs like the fast-paced “Means to an End” and the anthemic ass-beater “Fallen Rebels,” it’s not hard to see why.
