Action!
Bringing stone-cold Bandai Namco classic like Time Crisis and Point Blank to modern displays, Tassei Denki has hit a bullseye with their new plug-and-play G’AIM’E Lightgun.
We recently caught up with the G’AIM’E team at GDC 2026 to talk about this cutting-edge tech with old-school cool, tapping into some arcade muscle memory along the way…
G’AIM’E Lightgun Preview – Cutting-Edge Tech With Old-School Cool!
Following a successful Kickstarter (over 5,900 backers!), Tassei Denki is celebrating 30 years of Time Crisis with a bang through their new plug-and-play G’AIM’E Lightgun.
So to speak.
Officially licensed by Bandai Namco, the G’AIM’E Lightgun brings the light gun action of the aforementioned Time Crisis alongside Point Blank, Steel Gunner, and Steel Gunner 2 to modern day hardware.
For those who grew up with CRT televisions (we won’t tell how long ago that was…), G’AIM’E focuses on being highly accurate on modern day televisions, featuring the accurate – and well-made! – hardware to get the job done.
No need to worry about one’s display – the G’AIM’E Lightgun controller automatically detects one’s display, adjusting for all sizes. Whether you’ve got a teeny-tiny 15″ screen or something over 150″ in length (look at you!), its plug-and-play setup “just works,” Todd Howard style.
On that note, the G’AIM’E Lightgun features a highly detailed calibration system, making sure shots line up just right on modern displays like LCDs and the like. If you miss taking down a goon in Time Crisis’ castle, that’s 100% on you (we own it).
The G’AIM’E Lightgun itself is also a fine piece of hardware with a satisfying weight to it. Recoil is present and accounted for, and one can also utilize a foot pedal to avoid shots as the iconic Richard Miller.
Packing the right hardware for the job, the G’AIM’E Lightgun and collection of classics features an old-school cool with the advanced technology needed to land the perfect shot.
