Power Trash’s raucous, off-the-wall punk falls somewhere between Dazy’s powerpop-tinged style and Militarie Gun’s more hardcore leanings. Those are some of the biggest names in the genre, but if there’s any justice in the scene, Power Trash will be joining them soon. The band’s got a new single dropping Thursday, and it’s a real scorcher, a thrashy, melodic track as heavy as it is catchy. It’s called “They Only Live to Get Radical,” and lucky for you, we’ve got an exclusive premiere below.
Vocalist Pierce Lydon says, “This song is a rumination on how to exist at the end of the world and what it means to make art and survive in spite of a world that only wants to see you dead. All of us have been in so many different bands at this point. All of us have been so many different people. But we keep going. It’s almost Sisyphean but maybe this song is just us being a bit romantic about slamming our heads against a wall over and over.”
Pre-save the single here.
