Here We Are (from Labyrinth – 2020)
We’re slowing things down again with a lovely mid-tempo track. The opening verse does little for me, but Here We Are climaxes in a beautiful, layered chorus. The melodies aren’t much to write home about, but the amount of over-the-top theatricality in the production has always impressed me. Don’t hold back, GFriend! I wish the song was more consistently great, but its best moments feel like the audio version of a confetti drop. How can that not be exciting? I love this kind of cheesy stuff.
