Blast Worship: Morbier Danger

Where they from?
Chavronay, Switzerland. It is now December, which means the holiday onslaught is now upon us. How was your Thanksgiving? The highlight of mine was when my three-year-old nephew opened the door on my Dad while he was pooping. Everyone was horrified except for me and him. I guess we have the same maturity level?

Why the hype?
Apparently this is a cheese-themed band, go figure. I can’t speak french so to me this is just brutal top-tier grindcore with a professional polish to it. Honestly this band kicks ass, with tons of tech-death moments and dynamics that would make listeners of new-school death/grind proud. Let it be known how much I despise gimmick or themed bands yet still found myself rocking out to this professional razor-grade quality shit throughout the week.

Latest release?
Brierscard Destin on Repulsive Media Records. The other day I saw an Instagram reel of a guy playing the guitar solo from ‘Master of Puppets’ on a recorder and was totally blown away. It raised a lot of questions for me personally: Why were we forced to learn that specific instrument in middle school? Why did it suck so bad? What was the purpose? How could a loving and merciful God allow such suffering in this world? What is the square root of 88? Some things, dear reader, we may never know.
