Wish (from Fever Season – 2019)
We’re back in the group’s tropical phase with this b-side from Fever Season. This is definitely not my favorite era of GFriend, but I think this song is pretty solid. From its light EDM beat to the pleasant chorus, it wafts by like a refreshing summer breeze. I’m not so sure about the awkward “wish wish wish” hook, but I love the vocals that buttress it. The track has satisfying texture and a consistent energy that makes for a very pleasant listen. This somewhat unambitious approach is also the reason it never pushes beyond its status as a mid-tier b-side.
