SEGA CORPORATION, together with SEGA of America and Paramount Pictures, announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has recorded a global box office of $425 million.
Serving as a Hollywood film adaptation of SEGA’s popular Sonic the Hedgehog series of games, he “Sonic the Hedgehog” trilogy of movies stars the world’s fastest hedgehog Sonic as he sets forth on adventures on Earth.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which was released in theaters last month, tells of the mysterious “Ultimate Life Form” dark hero Shadow the Hedgehog. Making his movie debut, the story of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set against the vibrant backdrop of Tokyo and delivers the most expansive scale and supersonic action sequences to date – trust us on this one!
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was released in the US on December 20 last year. From December 20 to 22, 2024, the movie saw a recorded box office revenue of $60.1 million dollars and debuted at No.1. Internationally.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 saw the biggest opening of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, debuting at No. 1 in over 30 markets, including the U.K., Mexico, Italy, Australia, Poland, Malaysia, UAE, Turkey, Philippines, Panama, and Argentina.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is also in Japan theaters, opening on December 27, 2024. Since then, it has already made over 188.2 million yen, surpassing the box office revenue of the previous film to achieve 234 million yen – setting a record for the series in Japan!
