In the vast expanse of the unknown, where time and space unravel into nothingness, OOBRIS IOS emerges from the void. Forged by members of Manitoba-based extreme metal acts Wilt and Dissolution, the band manifests a vision of destruction and creation—an auditory singularity that echoes the birth of the universe itself.
Their debut album, Vospat, due March 21 via Decomp Regalia Records, is more than just a collection of songs. It’s an invocation, a testament to the chaos that preceded existence as we know it. With lyrics penned in an ancient alien language transcribed by Jordan Dorge, each track feels like an artifact from a forgotten civilization—an aural transmission from beyond the event horizon.
Today, Decibel premieres the band’s latest single, “Dostratis Satod Duvon Xagan.” The track lurches forward with inhuman intensity, bending sound into blackened oblivion. The band offers little in the way of direct translation, only alluding to the possibility that these lyrics narrate the sensation of being pulled through a black hole, a descent into the infinite. The result is both cryptic and captivating—equal parts visceral and otherworldly.
With Ryan Forsyth’s punishing guitar and bass work, Jordan Sanderson’s relentless drumming, and Dorge’s eldritch howls, OOBRIS IOS isn’t just crafting music; they’re summoning a force. Their sound is a rejection of light, a defiance against order, a maelstrom of cosmic entropy given form.
Experience “Dostratis Satod Duvon Xagan” below and prepare to be consumed. Vospat will be available digitally and in limited physical formats, with pre-orders launching soon. Consider yourself warned.
