Portland’s genre-defying chaos crew Nasalrod have never been ones to play it safe. Their latest single, The Maker, is a whirlwind of punk intensity, jagged rhythms, and theatrical vocal acrobatics—exactly the kind of unhinged energy you’d expect from a band that thrives on the unpredictable. But they’re not alone in the madness.
Premiering exclusively at Decibel, the video for The Maker—directed by James Rexroad—pulls together a staggering lineup of underground legends and heavy hitters, all making cameo appearances. We’re talking Al Jourgensen (Ministry), Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), Lee Ving (Fear), Jerry A (Poison Idea), Toody Cole (Dead Moon), Janet Weiss (Quasi), Steve Turner (Mudhoney), Matt Pike (High on Fire, Sleep), Sean Croghan (The Mistons; Crackerback), all of YOB, Help, Gaytheist, and Greg from Danava. If that list alone doesn’t make you press play, you might need to check your pulse.
“We had a blast making this video for The Maker,” says Chairman of Nasalrod. “Many influential artists and luminaries were involved, and of course, it was a huge honor working with all of them. The song is about propaganda, chaos, and cruel absurdity—and we feel this video captures all of those elements with some insane humor.”
The Maker appears on In The Modern Meatspace, Nasalrod’s new split LP with Victims Family, out now via Alternative Tentacles and Nadine Records. The two bands will be hitting the road together for a run of West and East Coast dates, sharing stages with Alice Donut, Stinking Lizaveta, and more. Check out the full list of tour dates below.
