Date Everything! Review

Feeling lonely these hot summer nights?

Sassy Chap Games and Team17 have just the thing for you with Date Everything!, a dating game where household items become so much more.

Featuring top voice actors and enough charm to fill a moderately-sized home, should players be wooed by garbage cans and go around-the-world

Date Everything! Review

Things kick off swimmingly in Date Everything!, with players nabbing a sweet remote job at the Valdivan megacorp handling customer support. However, due to that pesky AI, players are in “limbo” Big Head-style as they figure out their next move.

However, one needs not wait long – a drone soon drops off a package with some handy-dandy Dateviators specs. Not just stylish, they also let players see the human side of objects – starting with Skylar Specs.

Enter the fun of Date Everything! – dating everything! Choosing between love, friendship, and hate, players can see the human side of everything from their television to their bed as they speak with the many (many) objects around their house once per day.

Date Everything! pays host to a truly silly premise, but it owns it all the way – and truly thrives because of it. As big fans of dad jokes (naturally!), we were positively chuffed at the nonstop humor!

Seriously, pretty much every object is a play on words.

In everything that it does, the wit of Date Everything! is truly at the top of its class. Dialog options have fun with things (so many references!), and it’s hard not to crack a smile as you’re flirting with the most random of objects.

On that note, as players seek out “Roomers” (see?) and fill out their Date-a-Dex, they’ll be able to tap into S.P.E.C.S. points – “Smarts, Poise, Empathy, Charm, and Sass.” It’s a fun system, and leads to an immensely satisfying gameplay loop.

No need to feel any sort of pressure; just good vibes – and possibly more if you choose the right dialog options.

Of course, saving one of its best features for last, Date Everything! has truly, truly incredible voice over work featuring dozens of stellar voice over artists. They really sell each performance, and add so much life to the title.

If anything, the heart in Date Everything! can be found in more than just its romance – this is truly a title where everybody from the voice over talent to the writers to even the artists had an absolute blast.

Date Everything!’s romance packs heart, with its stellar voice work and sheer wit stealing the show. Grab your Dateviators – there’s a world just waiting to be swooned.
