A couple of San Diego extreme music mainstays—Justin Pearson and Mario Rubalcaba—have teamed up in a new effort called COMA, and are debuting with the track, “The World’s a Dahmer,” on Cult and Culture: A Planet B Podcast Compilation. Cult and Culture is Pearson’s podcast, and the compilation offers 14 tracks (some exclusive to the comp), plus a bonus 7″ single, from a wide ranging assortment of musicians who have appeared on the podcast—from the Exploited to the Locust to drummer Martin Atkins (PiL, Killing Joke, Ministry), and many more.
Cult and Culture: A Planet B Podcast Compilation is set for release on vinyl and digitally via Smashed Plastic and Three One G on November 21. Check out the full track listing and place your preorder here.
COMA drummer, Mario Rubalcaba, had this to say about the duo’s contribution to the comp:
“COMA is a chaotic blend of Discharge feeds Anti-Cimex crust meets Am Rep noise overdose! This track had originally been titled ‘This World’s a Goner,’ due to the upcoming (at the time) administration, then it occurred to me how all these siKKK fuKKK’s in the world are just eating away at one another—just like Dahmer—and there you go. This planet is truly cannibalistic in its purest form.”
