Full Album Stream: Ptolemea –Kali

We can’t imagine that there are a lot of extreme music acts based in the tiny European country of Luxembourg (surrounded by France, Belgium and Germany), but let us introduce you to Ptolemea, the folk-inspired doom project of current  Sinistro vocalist Priscila de Castro. Ptolemea’s latest, Kali, and second full-length overall, is a complex and layered mix of acoustic and electric instruments woven throughout with de Castro’s emotive voice. It’s lush, cinematic and dark with post-metal overtones mixed with more accessible gothic rock sounds. De Castro sings in both English and her native Portuguese.

Kali was recorded mixed by Yann Dalscheid at Unison Studio in Luxembourg and mastered by Miguel Teresou. It’s set for release on CD, vinyl and digitally on November 6, via Raging Planet Records. Place your preorder here.

De Costa had this to say about her second full-length:

“These past two years I’ve gone through major changes in my life, and this album, Kali, represents the different phases I’ve experienced. Whether it’s reconnecting with the feeling that anything in life is possible, cutting ties with relationships or ways of thinking that no longer helped me move forward, or surrendering to the chaos and beauty of life. Just as the Hindu goddess Kali represents destruction and rebirth, I thought it was the perfect title for this record.”
