Humanness Test have unveiled their new single, “Prima Facie,” along with a video. You can hear it with us first.
About the track, the band say: “The phrase ‘Prima Facie’ literally translates to ‘at first sight’ or ‘based on first impressions.’ For us, it naturally invites the question: What will people think when they first hear this song? We believe this track stands confidently on its own—honoring the foundation already built while opening the door to what’s still ahead.”
“Prima Facie” is the seventh single released from the Humanness Test project. This instrumental piece, written by Maurice Taylor and Chris Lucci, began with a bass riff that inspired deeper exploration. The interplay between bass and drums sparked further development through guitars and keyboards. The track features Francesco Finori (Italy) on keyboards and Pedro Ricardo (Portugal) on guitars. It reflects the creative partnership Chris and Maurice have cultivated over the past 30 years.
Lucci says: “There’s definitely a synergy within progressive music, and this track is the result—something that truly sounds like us. You can hear the influence of other bands, but ultimately it’s a reflection of how we write.”
