Let’s close out 2025 with a filthy dose of punky German black metal, shall we? The duo of Tom Horrified (rhythm and lead guitar/vocals) and H.T. Steinbrecher (drums/percussion) called Karloff are aided on their new track, “Regicide,” by bassist 33. The nearly four-minute grinder is a punchy, mid-tempo blast of nastiness with plenty of Midnight-inspired spunk. It just bulldozes along with buzzing guitar slashes, distorto vocals and a rumbling rhythm section devoid of subtlety.
Revered by Death is set for release on vinyl, CD and digitally on January 23 via Dying Victims Productions. Place your preorder here.
The band had this to say about the track:
“The song is about the murder of a king. A group of people come together to devise a plan to put an end to the king and his cruel reign. The lyrics are open to interpretation. Some parts are metaphors, others are fictional. What one takes from it or what it stands for is up to each individual to decide.
“Revered by Death has become a special and very personal album. That is basically always the case when we release something, but this album in particular. As a band, we went through a lot this year, and it was a difficult year for us. All of these experiences and impressions flowed into the album. We returned to our original sound, as on Raw Nights, and added a bit more darkness.”
