Global Pop Round-Up: January 2026 Edition

The Bias List is a K-pop blog that also covers a fair amount of J-pop. But just like most music fans, I enjoy tracks from all around the world. So, I thought I’d start a monthly round-up of some of the non-K-pop songs that have caught my ear. No ratings — just highlights!

Agnes – Wake Up

Another huge pop hit for her.

Barbara Bobak – Prelazim na zene

I swear she listens to The Chaser because this is the second song she’s released that sounds a bit like it. That’s totally okay with me!

Bentley Robles x Frankie Grande – Phantom Feelings

Not a collab I would have expected, but Bentley’s music continues to be the best type of big-chorused pop.

Cazzi Opeia – Time Machine

Sparkling Scandipop with a nostalgic bent.

CD9 – Rockstar

I never followed this Mexican boy band during their heyday but this long-awaited comeback has a great pop sound.

Cherry Bomb – Never Be Me (M★therf★cker)

It’s like she mixed Chappell and Sabrina and added a chugging electro energy.

Felicia – Hard

Ahead of her participation in Melodifestivalen, she just keeps releasing bangers.

Haute & Freddy – Dance The Pain Away

This is such an exciting group. They nail a certain 80s sound.

Kungs – Galaxy (ft. Theophilus London)

This has some of the catchiest melodies I’ve heard all year. It really gets stuck in your head.

Linda Lampenius x Pete Parkkonen – Liekinheitin

The sheer drama! It’s freaking awesome. Finland’s UMK does it again.

Michael Medrano – DANSE

Super upbeat Europop.

PinkPantheress – Stateside (ft. Zara Larsson)

I’m kind of tired of the constant remixes/re-imaginings, but this is my favorite PinkPantheress single and it’s nice to hear Zara on it.

Robyn – Talk To Me

The legend is back with the kind of perfect crystalline electro pop you’d hope for (+ Max Martin!).

Senidah – Ti i Ja

A Serbian 80s pastiche? Why not!

Slayyyter – DANCE…

Her new album has finally been announced and this is another strong taste of it.

Tamara Živković – Nova Zora

SO much drama! You know I love it.

Tuure Boelius – Käärmeen vuosi

You’ll always get some ace Finnish pop on this blog. They churn out so much of it.

Willa Ford – Love4Life

Willa Ford is a name that will only be familiar to elder millennial pop fans, but it’s so exciting to see her return with such great material. This is gorgeous electropop with a knockout chorus.

Zee Machine – Magnetic

He’s pulled from late-70s Michael Jackson with this and the result is totally brilliant.

Zhennan Zhou – BBB (ft. MILLI)

It’s been awhile since I’ve checked out his music but this new single has me curious again. I love the big rock/rap sound.
