For those who want to rule the world, independent Swiss studio Urban Games’ tycoon simulator Transport Fever 3 will give players the tools to create their ultimate utopia across land, sea, and air.
We recently spent some quality time building our dream world (and dealing with alligators) – learn more with our preview…
Transport Fever 3 Preview – The Ultimate Transport Tycoon Simulator
In just 10 years, the Transport Fever series’ two previous entries have cultivated a devout worldwide community, with millions sold across both PC and consoles, an active modding scene, and the creation of truly amazing wonders.
How do you improve upon such a rich lineage?
Releasing this year, Urban Games wants Transport Fever 3 to be “bigger, deeper, and more dynamic than ever.”
Quite the claim, yeah?
However, our hands-on time with Transport Fever 3 quickly backed up this claim, showing the sheer depth its world can provide for those looking to take the reins.
More than 300 vehicles, 35 industries, and a timeline that covers the 1900s to the 21st century are proof positive one can play their way as they make the trains run on time.
Quite literally, in some cases.
When designing Transport Fever 3, the team at Urban Games asked themselves one key question:
“How far can you take Transport Fever 3?”
No need to feel analysis paralysis, however…
For those new to the series (like us!), Transport Fever 3 gives those unacquainted to the series – and the genre for that matter – the tools needed to play their way.
Transport Fever 3’s main Campaign Mode features distinct scenarios loosely based on historical events. Both English and German voiceover work will be available, immersing players across different decades.
While putting on a profitable Mardi Gras in a post-disaster NOLA is quite the proposition (it is “The Largest Festival in the World,” after all), Transport Fever 3’s dynamic toolbox is easily accessible while still the providing the functionality needed to get the job done.
From swift alligator removal to crafting the ultimate supply route to maximize profits, Transport Fever 3 grants complete control over the biggest factors and the tiniest details.
It isn’t easy being a tycoon, after all.
On that note, most of our time in Transport Fever 3 was spent in its Sandbox Mode, which proudly showcased the freedom this title provides.
Biomes, town density, starting year, and even brush size let us finely tune our Transport Fever 3 world (or worlds, rather) like a finely manicured garden. One can also factor in one’s reputation, noise level, and resident happiness when tending to things – all key factors in shaping one’s utopia!
Appealing to newcomers and hardcore alike, Transport Fever 3 is living up to its claim as “The Ultimate Transport Tycoon Simulator” with the tools, opportunities, and shiny toys for players to connect the world and play their way.
Transport Fever 3 will release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store – learn more via its official website.
