San Antonio newcomers Voracious Contempt aren’t shy about wearing their slam metal influences on their collective sleeves. Their moniker, of course, comes from slam pioneers Internal Bleeding’s first full-length. So, yeah, you hear that on new track “Splitting the Cerebrum,” but there are some unique sonic twists thrown in there, as well. The opus is taken from the quintet’s upcoming EP, Chambers of the Infinite Solution, and is a slow, doomy grinder packed with all kinds of riff acrobatics.
Chambers of the Infinite Solution is set for release via OWTG Records on September 23. Nab your presave here.
The band described the track here:
“’Splitting the Cerebrum’ and its lyrics were us imagining some depth of lore for our cover artwork and ultimately having fun pulling references to a lot of our favorite comic characters and movies. The riffs themselves really give off a classic brutal death tone mixed with some light hip hop influences and turned out to be one of our favorite tracks.”
